Albany - Dougherty County's planning director is stepping down. Elizabeth Dean says she's retiring from the planning office to spend time with her family. She's been there since just after the flood of 94. Mary Teeter will step in as interim director.

"It's exciting, it's fun. You get to meet a lot of people, work on interesting problems, it's a good job. But it's time to let some other priorities come to the front," said Dean.

Teter says top priorities for the department are filling vacant positions and finishing projects currently underway.
