Albany - - Escape reality and step into the world of make believe. That's what a hundred children and their parents did Sunday at the first ever Fairy Tale Tea held at Chehaw Park.

Volunteers with the Albany Museum of Art organized the event allowing children to get their faces painted, meet storybook characters, and take part in a live puppet show.

The event is a fundraiser for the museum.

"We sold our event out a couple of weeks we had about 200 spots. We had a sell out event that we sold out a few weeks in advance so we feel really good about how things are going," says organizer Banks Margeson.

Participants could also take part in a silent auction and enjoy an afternoon tea.

Organizers say due to the success of the event, they may do this again next year.
