Hidalgo, TX -- The South Georgia Wildcats were back in action Saturday night after the open date last week, with the Cats on the road at Rio Grande Valley.
South Georgia was looking for its first road win of the season.
Both of the high-powered offenses had trouble finding the endzone.
The Wildcats trailed 27-22 at the half, but came back to take a 36-35 lead with 9 minutes to go in the 4th.
The Dorados immediately answered back with a TD of their own.
With one minute to go in the game South Georgia scored to close it to 45-42, but Rio Grande Valley hangs on for the 3-point win.
Cats receiver Chavis McCollister is named the offensive player of the game after catching eleven passes for 142 yards and a score.
The Wildcats fall to 3-2 on the season.
They return home to host division rival Florida next week.
