Disabled man mugged in his wheelchair

Albany --  Someone snatched a disabled man's grocery money, as he was on the way to the store in his wheelchair.

David Strickland going into Harvey's Supermarket at Slappey and Gillionville around 1:00PM Wednesday, when a man in a car pulled up next to him and snatched money from his front shirt pocket.

Strickland, who's on disability, just cashed his check Tuesday and was carrying an envelope with more than three hundred dollars inside.

The robber is white, about 25 years old and was wearing a Braves baseball cap, a white tank shirt and shorts.

He was driving a white car and was last seen on Gillionville Road.

    Coffee County deputies conducted a traffic stop on 31-year-old John Thomas Highsmith Saturday afternoon just after 3:00 p.m. on the Willacoochee Highway. Highsmith ran through a stop sign, barely avoiding a multi-vehicle collision.
