Albany -- Monroe high school senior Latricia Jackson likes to change things up.
Winner of the Region 1-AAAA Shot Put championship last season, the senior decided to switch to the triple jump for her final year.
The result?
Another region title.
Jackson placed first with a personal best distance of 36-feet 10.25 inches.
She also won the 200 meter dash, the 400 meter dash, and helped lead both the 4X100 and 4X400 meter relay teams to victory. J
ackson is now looking for a state championship in her new event, and says moving from shot-put to triple-jump wasn't all that hard.
"I just wanted to try something new. I did the shot my freshman and junior year, and I did the long jump my sophomore year. I'm always just trying something new."
The girls AAAA state championship begins Thursday at Hugh Mills Stadium.
