Ware County - Governor Sonny Perdue flew to Ware County Tuesday to see the destruction caused by the wildfires.

The fire headed toward Charlton County has nearly doubled in size since the governor's visit on April 21st.

He says there's no holding onto the state's checkbook when dealing with a fire this size. He'll make sure the state provides the resources and money needed until its out.  "We've had a loss of property, extreme loss of economic opportunity through timber, we've had a loss of homes, but God has blessed us. We have not had a loss of life," says Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue.

The governor says more than 100-thousand acres have burned throughout South Georgia in the last two weeks. He'll try to get as much federal money as possible to ease the financial burden off the state.
