Albany - Former Westover High offensive lineman Kurt Quarterman did not hear his name called during this weekend's NFL draft.
But when it was over, Quarterman's former head coach at the University of Louisville was dialing the number of his favorite offensive guard.
Atlanta Falcons head coach Bobby Petrino signing Kurt Quarterman and his Louisville teammate Renardo Foster as undrafted free agents.
Kurt Quarterman started 38 consecutive games at Louisville where he was a first team all-Big East selection his senior season.
Quarterman also scored four touchdowns in his career
Petrino has said the Falcons offensive line is not physically suited to his style of offense.
Atlanta drafted offensive tackle Justin Blalock from the University of Texas in the second round and drafted Ohio State center Doug Datish in the sixth round.
