Albany - Good news for people in Southwest Dougherty County. A new retail shopping center is under development on Newton Road just south of the airport. It would target businesses to cater that part of town, like a pizza shop, or other restaurants that would be useful to airport patrons or folks who live nearby.
The complex may be eligible for Employment incentive funds through the Department of Community Affairs to help with construction. "To go out and find financing tools that we could enable those who are local as well as non local developers who had projects that would help with the development of the non incorporated area," said Commissioner John Hayes.
The shopping center will house about 8 different units, close to one thousand square feet each.
