Thomasville-- In a maze of cones Thursday morning, bus drivers competed in seven events to test their bus handling skills, backing up, making proper turns and using their mirrors to judge angles.

While the rodeo is a fun competition for the drivers, in the end it comes down to the safety of their passengers.  Bus driver and judge Mikeal Lovejoy says, "this is why, one of the reasons we encourage all drivers to do it, because as a school system we have to be concerned about the skills of our drivers and their capabilities.

Besides bragging rights, today's winner gets the chance to compete in the statewide bus rodeo.
