Valdosta - The Valdosta State Lady Blazers have been dominating this season with a 40-4 record including a 19-1 mark against Gulf South Conference.
The Lady Blazers have also been having one of their players honored on a weekly basis by the conference.
This week it is two VSU softball players who have been honored for their play.
Shortstop Alex Acosta is the player of the week for a second time this seaon and Brittany Collis is the pitcher of the week for a fourth time.
Collis won two games last week and earned a save.
One of those wins was her 10th shutout of the season.
Alex Acosta last week had a 500 batting average with two homeruns.
The junior from Hialeah, Florida leads the conference in runs batted in.
The VSU softball team concludes the regular season on the road this weekend with doubleheaders at Alabama-Huntsville and North Alabama.
In other Valdosta State news, the Blazer tennis teams will host NCAA regionals next Thursday and Friday.
