The Lee County Sheriff's Department is now working with the Albany Crime stoppers. The Lee County Sheriff's Department asked to join the Albany Crime-stoppers program. The Sheriff's Department believes it will be a helpful tool in closing some cases.
Waycross -- As those wildfires continue to burn in Ware County, the State's Fire Insurance Commissioner will visit today.
Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John W. Oxendine will arrive in Waycross around 11:00AM. He and representatives from his Consumer Services Division will meet with the people affected by this fire.
One-thousand homeowners were evacuated last week and evacuations were recommended for another 5,000 as the fire spread.
Oxendine will speak with those homeowners and business owners about their needs and the insurance claims that will no doubt result from this record-breaking fire.
They will be at Waycross Middle School from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
