Albany -- The largest class in 19 years was inducted into the Albany Sports Hall of Fame Monday night, as six new members were enshrined in the Hall.
Milledge White Junior, Hampton Smith, Sam Brown Lippit Junior, Janet Knight Linder, Dennis James, and Robert "Goo Goo" Heidt make up the class of 2007, bringing the total number of those enshrined to 110.
James pitched four years for Albany high school, with a career earned run average of just 0.25.
He signed with the Dodgers after graduating high school in 1967, and James says its nice to be recognized in his home town.
"It is an honor," says James. "I spent a lot of time playing baseball here in Albany. When I'm out and around, people will always ask me, 'Well, where are you from?' and I'll always tell them, 'Home is Albany, Georgia.'"
