    The Albany Police Depart is engaged in a recruitment campaign to get its officer corps up to full strength. APD is budgeted for 214 officers, and right now is about 20 officers short of that level, and

Albany--  A rowdy neighborhood fight ended with gunfire. At least two people were shot, one fatally.

People who live in the 1300 block of Mulberry Avenue say several people were fighting in an empty alley sometime after six o'clock Monday night when shots rang out. Albany Police tell us at least two people were shot. 

Both victims were taken to the hospital but one died from gunshot wounds. APD's Crime Scene Unit was at the site late Monday night looking for evidence.

Police say no suspects are under arrest at this time.
