Albany -- Albany State University has canceled all large public gatherings on campus because of security concerns. A spokesman says the decision is not based on any specific threat.
President Everett Freeman and his cabinet made the decision in the wake of the Virginia Tech tragedy. It will remain in place until Fall Semester.
A vigil for the Virginia Tech victims on the ASU campus Thursday night was allowed to take place.
