Albany-- People in the Fairfield sub-division held their first major neighborhood watch meeting Monday night at Northgate Presbyterian Church. After a series of burglaries in recent months, they decided to take action.

"We just want to get the neighbors aware of what's going on, and get to know each other a little better and try to prevent this in the future," said neighborhood watch organizer Jean Duncan.

An Albany Police officer and Sheriff Jamil Saba gave the group crime-fighting tips and advice on how to set up their neighborhood watch.
