Former UGA golfer glad to be playing in South Georgia

April 13, 2007

Valdosta - There are  several Georgia golfers who are glad to see the Nationwide Tour add Valdosta to the schedule.

One of those is Thomson native Franklin Langham.

Langham was an All-American at the University of Georgia in 1991.

He has bounced between the PGA and what is now the Nationwide Tour for the last 15 years.

He was on the big tour for five straight years where he earned a couple of second place finishes.

Langham's last year on the PGA tour was in 2005 and he is hoping a big year in 2007 on the Nationwide Tour will get him back to the big tour.

Franklin Langham said "For me know it is just kind of getting the confidence back. Getting the swing a little more fine tuned and getting my game ready and hopefully get back to the tour."

Franklin Langham has two wins on the Nationwide Tour. The second was in 2004.
