Albany -- The game of golf has taken Albany native Josh Broadaway across the country and around the globe, but this week, he's glad to be back in South Georgia.
Broadaway is getting a sponsor's exemption for the Nationwide Tour's South Georgia Classic at Kinderlou Forest.
It's a course the cross-handed golfer knows very well after playing there in a couple of Hooters Tour events.
But Broadaway wants to be on the Nationwide Tour, and needs to play well this week.
After next week's tournament, the PGA will shuffle the money list.
That means Broadaway needs to be high enough in the rankings so he won't need any help making the field at future Nationwide events.
"I need to cash a decent check at all this week, it should reshuffle me up before the next reshuffle," says Broadaway. "I should get in the next five events and just got to keep playing well from there on."
Josh Broadaway will tee off at 2:22pm Thursday afternoon on the back nine.
