Albany --  A former WG&L employee said he was tired of fighting and has settled his case.

Ray Blanchard, worked at Water, Gas, & Light for more than forty years before retiring in January. He says he worked his way up to line supervisor, but was then denied a promotion and pay increase unfairly.

He sued WG&L but has settled the case for a little more than $8,000.

"Job performance, merits, that type of deal don't mean anything when it comes to a promotion. It's just who the management likes and who they want to put in place, as they so call them," he says.

Blanchard says evaluations weren't properly considered when it came time for pay increases and that promotions were handled incorrectly, without a panel interviewing for the position.
