Albany -- Monday is the big day for Albany Tech, as the school can sign its first recruiting class for the newly formed basketball team.
The Titans got a jump on the process, holding try-outs at Turner Gym Friday and Saturday.
Albany Tech already has a couple of local stars ready to sign, like Monroe's Wilbur Lake and Albany's Bryan Chatmon.
While the try-outs were open to anyone in the community, Titans head coach Sylvester Patterson says bringing in the local high school stars is a win-win situation.
"We really want to get some of the local stars in, so we can get that fan base that they bring," says Patterson. "The fan base is going to come to see them, and they want to play in front of the fan base, so it kind of works good for both of us. "
Patterson says he expects to sign about ten of the high school players that tried out over the weekend.
