Albany--  Due to construction on the Liberty bypass in Albany, there will be a temporary traffic change this week.

Construction workers are milling and resurfacing about a ten mile stretch along the Albany Bypass. Beginning Thursday night, the SR 520 East bound ramp at Dawson Road will be closed temporarily.

Traffic will be detoured down Dawson Road to Westover Boulevard where drivers will make a left. The bypass should then be accessed from the Nottingham Way interchange.

The work will be done between the hours of 7 p.m. And 6 a.m. and the ramp should re-open by Friday morning.

Other temporary closures will take place over the next few weeks.  Drivers will be notified by portable message board signs.  GDOT asks that drivers pay attention to the signs for notifications and to continue to be mindful of the speed limit in work zones.
