Americus-  A Mississippi hospital that's all too familiar with storm damage lends a helping hand in Americus. Representatives from Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, Mississippi, toured the tornado-ravaged Sumter Regional Hospital yesterday.

Memorial Hospital employees suffered through damages two years ago in Hurricane Katrina. They presented Sumter Regional Hospital with a check for more than $13,500.00. Employees also offered some good advice.

"One thing that folks continue to say, and I guess this applies to everyone involved in the process, is you've got to take care of yourself, you've got to take some time out, get away from all of the myriad of things that you're having to deal with on a daily basis and do some things to make sure you're maintaining your own health," said David Seagraves, SRH President & CEO.

Memorial Hospital employees raised the funds through a program called, "It's Our Turn" and promised more funds will be coming to assist Sumter Regional Hospital.
