Americus-  The next phase in Sumter Regional Hospital's storm recovery received a police escort through the streets of Americus Wednesday. Semi trucks carrying prefabricated parts that will be assembled into the hospital's new temporary building made their way through town arriving at the HealthPlex Site.

The HealthPlex site has been cleared to make way for the new building. The temporary building is arriving on several tractor trailers and will be assembled on site over the next two months. The facility will allow the hospital to offer the same services they offered the community the day the tornado struck, including surgery.

FEMA is expected to announce more details about the facility next week.
