Clinch County --  A Georgia pilot walks away without a scratch after making an emergency crash landing in Clinch County.

Twenty-three-year-old Taylor Gibson was flying a single engine piper from Sylvania, Georgia to Fort Myers, Florida.

Authorities say his engine failed and he was forced to make an emergency landing Wednesday afternoon. The plane went down on a dirt road near Highway 177 in Fargo, which is east of Valdosta.

The plane received some body damage and the landing gear collapsed from the force of the landing.

Luckily, a C-130 from Moody Air Force base was training in the area and able to assist the pilot.

Deputies with the Clinch County Sheriff's Department say they kept him on the radio and were then able to located him and inform authorities of his location.

Gibson was not injured in the crash.

Authorities with the Federal Aviation Administration are now on scene looking into what caused the plane's engine to fail.
