Augusta -- The world's best golfers are gathering in Augusta for the Masters this week, hoping for a chance to slip on the winners Green Jacket.
However, for some of the players in the field, just being in the tournament is victory enough.
We told you last month about McDonough's Dave Womack qualifying for the Masters after winning US Mid-Amateur championship last year.
Tuesday, Womack found himself playing a practice round with defending champ Phil Mickelson.
Mickelson, Chris DiMarco, and Aaron Olberhoser were more than happy to provide the 28-year-old with helpful hints about the famed Augusta National Course.
After the round Womack says regardless of how he scores in the tournament, it's a week that's already lived up to expectations.
"To be able to play with those guys, with Mickelson, was great," says Womack. "I've followed him since he won as an amateur in 1991. He was really helpful when I asked questions. It was a fun day."
Dave Womack says his next goal is to qualify for the US Walker Cup.
He tees off with Mark O'Meara and Stuart Appleby Thursday at 9:39 a.m.
