Lowndes County- Construction on Interstate-75 has resumed after a new contractor is hired to finish the job.
G.W. Yates and Sons, a company based in Memphis, Tennessee, will complete the work left undone by Douglass Asphalt Company.
The Georgia Department of Transportation ruled last January that Douglas Asphalt was in default of their contract.
The highway widening project stretches from Exit 18 in Lowndes County to the Cook County line.
There is still much work to be completed, but the construction is scheduled to be finished within the next year.
