Investigators still search for Berrien Arsonists

April 2, 2007

Nashville - The Georgia Forestry Commission says arsonists are responsible for starting seven fires in Berrien County Sunday afternoon.

Six of the fires were started within a five-mile radius along Highway 129 and Giddens Road.

Crews also battled one fire south of Nashville.

Together the fires burned 160 acres of land.

Fire fighters put out the fires but say they will monitor many hot spots daily that will continue to burn until it rains.

They are asking anyone with information on who may have started these fires to call the Berrien County Sheriff's Office.
