APD investigator crashes his cruiser

March 15, 2007

Sylvester -- An APD crime scene investigator who worked all night on the Camp murder investigation crashed his unmarked cruiser this afternoon. He may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

Investigator Daniel Zok's supervisor Lieutenant Ryan Ward says Zok was on the way to back Albany from the Moultrie crime lab. We're told he had evidence in the Camp case in his car.

State troopers say Zok veered off the right side of Highway 112, crossed back over the highway, and crashed on the left side of the road.

Zok was not seriously injured but was taken to the hospital after the crash about 4:30.

The crash happened northeast of Sylvester, not on the way from Moultrie to Albany. He told investigators at the scene he didn't know how he ended up there.
