Valdosta  --    Two workers at a South Georgia chemical plant are injured in an explosion. Around eight Thursday morning, a fire at Arizona Chemical on Hill Avenue in Valdosta left two employees with minor injuries.

The Valdosta Fire Department responded to the explosion in the company's electrical room. The two workers were treated at South Georgia Medical Center.

"We had everything under control within 30 minutes. It took us a while to get to the area where the fire was. Once we got there, we contained it to one room of origin and save the facility," said Valdosta Fire Dept. Chief J. D. Rice.

Investigator say the explosion was due to excessive dust in the electrical panel. The plant was back in operation that afternoon.
