Leesburg-- Another Lee County Department head says the county's hiring freeze is putting him in the squeeze.
Tuesday night, Parks and Recreation Department Director Eddie Dixon asked county commissioners for permission to hire two maintenance workers.
Two of the four maintenance positions in his department are vacant. The county remains under a hiring freeze to save money until the new budget year starts in July.
Commissioners made no decision but they previously denied a request from the Magistrate court to fill vacancies.
