Albany - - An annual event to motivate kids and teens to reach their full potential was a big hit Saturday.

The Annual Youth Symposium took place at Albany State University. Students from various churches and community groups came out to listen to several guest speakers, including representatives from the police department, district attorney's office, and schools.

The focus is to steer them away from drugs, bullying, and violence.

The event is sponsored by Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority. They've been doing this for 10 years.
