VSU athletes give back

March 9, 2007

Valdosta - Victims of domestic violence often have a hard time getting out of an abusive relationship. The Haven Battered Women's Shelter offers them help, and now Valdosta State University does too.

The VSU women's basketball and volleyball teams and Quota International hope to assist families looking to re-establish their households after leaving a violent relationship.

They are collecting clothing, furniture, and other items needed to help them rebuild their lives

"I hope I never find myself in the situation that these women find themselves in but if I were to, I'd want to know that the community was working hard to help me out," says Lynn Capese, President of Quota International of Valdosta.

They will be collecting donations every Saturday in March from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the VSU PE Complex.
