Valdosta - The Valdosta State Lady Blazers defeated Tampa 64-57 in the first round of the NCAA DII South women's regionals Friday at Fort Myers, Florida.

Junior Carley Peterson made 4-5 three-point baskets to lead the Lady Blazers with 14 points.

The Valdosta State women (26-5) will play undefeated Florida Gulf Coast in the regional semifinals on Saturday.
