Cavs name Sasnett new soccer coach

Albany - While Ken Veilands has been building the Darton soccer teams into two of the top programs in the national junior college ranks, Bart Sasnett has been doing the same over at Andrew College.

A fact that did not go unnoticed by Veilands when he stepped down as coach of the Darton men two months ago.

Darton introduced Bart Sasnett has the new head coach of the Cavaliers men's soccer team on Wednesday.

Ken Veilands will remain head coach of the Lady Cavaliers and serve as director of soccer operations.

Sasnett is a native of Fort Walton Beach and  won 63 matches as head coach of the men's and women's soccer teams at Andrew College.

And both Sasnett and Veilands believe they will make a great team which will make both Darton soccer teams among the best in the nation.

Bart Sasnett said "We are both very, very motivated competitors. I think we are going to learn a lot from each other in aiding Darton's success as a soccer program."

Ken Veilands said "I know his coaching style and it fits in well with what we are trying to do here. He has been coach of the year before and he understands the competition." 

Darton men's soccer team has won 76 matches since it first took the field in 2000 and the Cavaliers won the region title in 2002.
