Americus - - Tornado victims who lost their jobs will get help from the state. 

The Georgia Department of Labor will open a disaster relief unemployment insurance claims center in Americus at the Griffin Bell Aerospace Technology Center on the South Georgia Technical College campus.

Commissioner Mike Thurmond says hundreds of people in Sumter County have lost jobs as a result of the storm.

Victims will be able to apply for unemployment money at the disaster relief center.

The center will begin taking claims for unemployment insurance compensation and other employment-related services Monday at noon until 6pm.
