Albany -- Over 500 runners were in Downtown Albany early Saturday morning to compete in the first-ever Albany Marathon and Half-Marathon.
Jared Nyamboki of Kennesaw is the top finisher in the marathon for the men with a time of two hours and thirty minutes.
Joshua McClymont places second, with Todd Smoot of Valdosta coming in third.
Albany's Wendy Donnan takes the top spot for the women, finishing in three-hours and 32-minutes.
Donnan finished in 24th place overall, and says it's great to be competing in her home city.
"It was a thrill to be able to win on my home turf," says Donnan. "A lot of fun. The race was great, the course was a lot of fun, and the support was amazing."
Darton soccer coach Ken Veilands finishing the half-marathon is one-hour and 43-minutes, good for 4th in his age group.
