Milledgeville -- The Brookwood girls basketball team earned a 52-40 win over Gatewood in the GISA state semifinals in Milledgeville Thursday night.
The Lady Warriors have never played for a state championship, but have their chance Saturday afternoon.
"Never, ever, EVER in girls basketball at Brookwood have we played for the state championship," says Lady Warriors coach Shondra Johnson, with a smile.
"That's what our ultimate goal was from the beginning of the year: To play for the state championship."
Brookwood faces Trinity Christian Saturday at 3:20 in the GISA Girls AA State title game.
