Lady Rams, ABAC advance while Blazers lose a stunner

The Albany State Lady Rams defeated Tuskegee 51-48 in the quarterfinals of the SIAC women's basketball tournament on Friday.
Nikia Trice scored 18 points and Aldrany Peak had a double-double with 12 points-18 rebounds.
The Lady Rams play Benedict in the semifinals on Saturday.
The Albany State men will play Benedict also in the men's semifinals

The Valdosta State Blazers lose a hearbreaker 73-72 to Harding University at the Gulf South Conference tournament.  The Blazers led 72-69 with four seconds to play.  Harding's Reggie Bibb was at the foul line.  Bibb hit the first foul shot.  Intentionally missed the second and grabbed the rebound and hit a three-point basket at the buzzer.  Valdosta State know has to hope their 20 win season is good enough to earn a berth in the NCAA D-II regionals.  The Lady Blazers will play Arkansas Tech in Saturday's semifinals.

In Atlanta, ABAC beats Coastal Georgia 103-85.  The Stallions will play Georgia Perimeter in the GJCAA men's championship game.  Leon Buchanan led ABAC with 31 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots.   Brandon Shingles had 17 points and eight assists.
