Albany-- During a first reading, Albany city commissioners voted to give themselves raises but it's not a done deal yet.
Commissioner Jon Howard was the only commissioner to vote against the plan that would double commissioners' salary to $15,000 a year and triple the mayor's pay to $25,000. Howard says it's too big a jump all at once.
Commissioners haven't gotten a raise in 20-years and compared the raise to other cities similar in size. They'll have to vote on the plan after a second reading on March 27th before it can be adopted.
