Albany - There is no question that Deerfield-Windsor and North Cobb Christian have the top teams in the GISA's AAA classification and maybe the entire GISA.
The two teams will meet in the state tournament only it won't be in the state championship game.
The long awaited showdown will take place in Friday's semifinals at Georgia College's Centennial Center in Milledgeville.
Some say this game is for the state championship.
But not Deerfield-Windsor coach Gordy Gruhl.
Gruhl telling his team they will have to win two games to claim a state championship.
The two teams both have just one loss this season.
It was Deerfield-Windsor who beat North Cobb back in mid-December here in Albany.
And North Cobb handed the Knights their one and only loss two weeks later at a holiday tournament in Macon.
Gordy Gruhl says that loss to North Cobb was his team's third game in as many days.
And in the third installment, his Knights will have a week of practice to prepare.
Gruhl said "We know there are some areas that we have got to play better in. We have got to rebound the ball better. We have got to do a better job in transition defense. We do those two things and execute well offensively, I think it will be a game that goes right down to the wire.
Deerfield-Windsor plays North Cobb Christian in the GISA AAA semifinals for a second straight year. Knights won last year in overtime.
Game time is at 7:00pm Friday in Milledgeville.
The winner plays the other semifinal winner between Southland and Riverside Military. That game starts at 8:30pm Friday at Georgia College.
