Tifton - - The Tift County Board of Education is looking for its next Superintendent.

Interim Superintendent Patrick Atwater is a finalist for the job. He has served in that capacity since September after former Superintendent John Harper resigned.

Joanne Horton, an Assistant principal at Foley Elementary School in Alabama is also up for the job. The third finalist withdrew his name from the running.

"We want our graduation rate up, we want everything to move forward and be a more progressive school system," says School Board Chair Rita Griffin.

The board interviewed both finalists and will make a decision March 13th.
