Reed Bingham honored

February 23, 2007

Adel - A South Georgia State Park is being honored for its programs and overall management.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources presented Reed Bingham State Park in Adel with the awards.

The awards were given based on guest comments, programs offered to park goers, and park attendance.

Groups like AmeriCorps, who are helping out at Reed Bingham say they've been to parks all over the south.

And as far as Reed Bingham goes, they're one of the best.

"This park has put a huge emphasis on their conservation and outreach efforts. They've taken us out on the boat and shown us a lot of areas they've helped to maintain," says AmeriCorp volunteer Lauren Fluken.

This is the third time in five years Reed Bingham has won the award for park programming.
