New Thomasville police chief named

February 20, 2007

Thomasville-- Ellis Jackson served as interim police chief for the past three months.

Now, the job's a permanent position for him. This appointment is longtime dream fulfilled for Jackson, who began his career with Thomasville PD in 1976 as a patrolman.

He's continually moved up through the ranks. Jackson takes the job over from former Chief David Huckstep. Huckstep resigned in November to go work in Alachua County, Florida.
