Albany -- Many Georgians who own lakefront property may wonder if a plan to increase Georgia's water supply could affect their docks or yards.

State representatives voted for what they say could be a solution to a tri-state battle between Georgia, Alabama, and Florida, over water resources. The House voted to ask Congress and the US Army Corps of Engineers to study raising the water levels of Georgia's lakes.

The idea started as a bid to raise the level of Lake Lanier by two feet but grew to include other lakes as well.
