Valdosta - The former director for the Valdosta-Lowndes Recreation, Parks and Community Affairs Department has been sentenced to 5 years probation for theft.

Brocky Brock also must complete 120 hours of community service and pay a 5 thousand dollar fine.

Brock worked for the City from 1996 to 2005 when he resigned amid allegations he had misused department money.

He also served as commissioner for the Georgia Amateur Softball Association. The accusations came after money from a canceled softball tournament was not returned.

The charges will not remain on Brock's record if he has no problems during his probation term.
