Thomasville-- The Kennedy Center's Suzanne Farrell Ballet will perform tonight at the Municipal Auditorium in downtown Thomasville.

Farrell, a recipient of the Kennedy Center's lifetime achievement award, is brought to Thomasville by the Florida State Dance Department.

She was really the defining dancer in America in the world of ballet in the '60s and '70s. George Balanchine, the father of American ballet choreographed over 30 ballets, just for Suzanne Farrell," said Julia Singletary, event co-chair of the Thomasville Cultural Center.

The company will perform at 7:30 Friday night.  All proceeds go to benefit the Thomasville Cultural Center and the FSU Department of Dance.
