Valdosta -- The former director of the Valdosta-Lowndes Recreation and Parks Department is sentenced to five years on probation.
Brockey Brock resigned from that post in 2005 after being accused of misappropriating funds. In December, he pleaded guilty to one count of theft.
In addition to the probation, Brock must pay a $5,000 fine and perform 120 hours of community service.
He said the missing money stemmed from a misunderstanding.
