Albany -- A bank robbery suspect surrendered to police Wednesday.

Twenty-eight-year-old Wallace Benjamin Rogers met police at the Lee/Dougherty County line. He's charged with a holdup at Suntrust Bank on Mock Road.

On December 29th, a robber pulled a gun on a teller, got money and left, but a dye bomb was put into the bag and exploded on the gunman.

Albany Police say, however, that wasn't a factor in his arrest. They say he was acquainted with one of their detectives and agreed to surrender.

He's in the Dougherty County Jail.
