Thomasville-- Cairo Fitness Center was awarded a 25 thousand dollar loan, through Citizens Bank, for expanding their business.

OneGeorgia guarantees to pay off a percentage of their loan, if they are unable to.

"It allowed us to do the remodeling, repainting, remodeling the front office. With the help, laying tile, giving it a facelift because this was an old grocery store so you can imagine the remnants of cashier lines and the floor and the freezers and all that kind of stuff so it allowed us to kind of upgrade, give it a new facelift," said Beth Ferrell, co-owner Cairo Fitness Center.

The awards go to help development projects all over Georgia geared toward creating jobs and encouraging private investment. The Downtown Development Authority in Thomasville was also awarded a One hundred and twenty thousand dollar economic development, growth and expansion grant.
