Valdosta - Changes in runway construction could result in better travel options for South Georgia.
The Valdosta Regional Airport is taking steps to improve accommodations for larger airplanes.
This renovation will allow travelers to reach destinations on more direct flights. "Runway paving work is all complete and we're waiting for the final phase and that was recently awarded. The preliminary steps are being taken this week and next week to start that project," says Airport Director Bob Holliway.
The runway is expected to be completed mid-summer.
