Tifton - - A man who tried to rob a Tifton restaurant Thursday morning never completed his mission.

Tifton police say the robber walked in a back delivery door entrance around 9:00 AM and pulled a gun on employees.

"You can see him on the video coming in the back door and he approaches going toward the office but he never goes in the office. At that time I guess is when he met the manager and the manager ran out of the door," says Lt. Porter Jackson.

Jackson says when the manager ran out without giving him cash, the suspect eventually ran out too so that he wouldn't be trapped inside the restaurant.

The man was wearing a dark hat and a mask, and he was carrying a bag or possibly a women's purse.
